“Today’s Young Farmers, are Tomorrow’s Farm Business Leaders”
Developing the next generation of farmers is essential to the sustainability and profitability of agriculture.
When the word “agriculture” comes to mind, for most kids their first thought is “farming”. However, what most people don’t realize is the agricultural industry offers over 200 different career paths. From scientists, to journalist, to sales, to farming, you can find just about any career path you’re interested in.
According the USDA, one in every twelve jobs in the United States related to Agriculture. With the population growing every day, and the need for more food, the need for people to work in the agricultural world also increases. However, not many kids are exposed to the agricultural world and know the options they have in way of career paths. Exposing kids at a young age not only educated them but gives them an opportunity to continue a path of working in the industry.
An article posted by the Daily Beast called “20 Most Useless Degrees” listed agriculture as number three! But how can this be if there are so many open opportunities for our children in this industry? If this is how people perceive agriculture, who is there to really educate our young kids than us? Bentley Brothers would like to help! Join us June 2nd from 9:00am to 3:00pm for our first ever Tractor College, and let’s teach our kids the benefits of this industry!
